The generation of the Founding Fathers was passing away. As he grew older, Thomas Jefferson would write about religion. He longed for the “pure” words of Jesus, unmixed with the tradtions of men. He could see the time when younger men would restore “primitive Christianity.” It was happening in Kentucky in his later years.
